This high quality icebox-type watermelon has become a mainstay in northern gardens due to its very early maturity. The round melons have a thin, hard rind that is nearly black when mature and are about 7 to 9 inches in diameter, weighing 6 to 12 pounds. Crisp, orange-red flesh is unfailingly sweet and juicy. Has small brown apple-like seeds. Well-suited for home garden, local markets and shipping.
