Sunflower, Vincent® Fresh DMR Hybrid
#H06177
These beauties feature Downy Mildew resistance! Pollen free, large, 5" blooms have round, overlapping flower petals creating a semi-double look. Flower heads develop straight up and continue to grow at a 45 degree angle on strong stems for a superior presentation and an increased percentage of saleable stems. Short crop cycle and tight flowering window – very uniform and vigorous in growth so it's better to keep the sowing window shorter than with comparable varieties. Excessive nitrogen, especially in the summer, causes plants to grow too vigorously and have abnormal flower shapes. Day length neutral. The leaf structure is more open for improved aeration which means less moisture droplets for a reduced risk of Botrytis damage. Small upper leaves make this an ideal choice for bouquets. For cut flowers, cut stems when the flowers are 1/4 open with the petals perpendicular to the center disc. Cut flowers are long lasting in vases and average 10 to 14 days. To ensure the longest vase life, cut stems at the proper stage; late harvesting will result in reduced vase life. 60-72". Golden-orange petals with crisp, green centers – a nice alternative to the typical sunflower market selection.
