Many varieties have been 'bred for blue' in recent years, but truly world-class blues are surprisingly difficult to find. Compact plants with good branching produce huge, 4 to 5 inch, deep blue, carnation-like blossoms that show occasional, small white markings. Flowers earlier than older grandiflora doubles and holds up well in inclement weather.
